Intercultural Forum 2021

Twilight Community Group has its foundations firmly rooted in the different communities of Kilkenny city & county. The Board of management of the Charity has members of our International Culture friends with representatives of the Romanian, Bengali, Polish, South Sudanese , African communities group and our Irish communities as members

The three pillars of the Twilight Community Group CLG are.

  1. Integration
  2. Inclusion
  3. Solidarity

To develop a fully integrated , social inclusive society we must cognizant of the views of all our cultures now living in Ireland’s diverse Communities. When we design our Integration strategies it is important to listen, relate and most importantly we ask ‘what you need rather then tell them this is what we are doing’ which unfortunately in some cases are really box ticking exercises

Twilight Community Groups Intercultural Forum 2021 wishes to invite all cultures, communities to take part and have a representative to discuss your needs , requirements and concerns.

To be a fully inclusive .integrated society we need inputs from all , including our Irish community groups. Now is the time and opportunity for us to develop such a forum. During this pandemic we have all retreated to our homes and our close network of friends and family. Our initial aim is to get the names and contact details of interested people and community groups. we can develop a Virtual Meeting and when these strange and very pressing times of isolation and lockdowns are over , our first Twilight Intercultural Forum conference .

One of the topics up for discussion is the opening of an International Cultural House in Kilkenny

By having an International Cultural House combining all Nationalities and groups regardless of background or status gives a unique opportunity to support and develop cultural activities through their regular contact. By offering the support and advice on many different subjects of Interest we can develop and socially inclusive society through integration. With our support and European connections, we offer a brighter future. We will help develop individual identity through Culture & Education
